In Week 6 of our kindergarten program, we focus on the character trait of proactivity, brought to life through the inspiring story of Mary Anning, the trailblazing fossil hunter. Students explore the importance of planning ahead, adapting to challenges, and staying curious in the face of obstacles. Through engaging read-alouds, creative writing prompts, and playful phonics games, they strengthen literacy skills, mastering sight words, letter sounds, and comprehension, all while connecting deeply to Mary’s remarkable journey.

Math becomes a hands-on adventure with dinosaur-themed sorting and classifying activities, while science and social studies spark curiosity about England, animal adaptations, and the giants of the dinosaur world. A highlight of the week is crafting “coffee ground fossils,” a tactile project that blends history, art, and imagination into a memorable experience.
