Welcome to Week 13 - Ovals! There are many things in our world shaped like ovals, from faces to race tracks to olives and more so you and your little ones are sure to enjoy lots of fun learning and practicing a variety of skills with the theme of ovals! With this week we finish our introduction of all the letters in our Letter Sounds Tubs with the focus of Y and Z in our Wake Up Warm Ups. Next week you'll be starting our second letter review sequence! Math work continues with counting activities and a number 1-10 review. Art activities offers three options and there is a fun learning activity involving seeds and how they grow! Enjoy Week 13 Ovals!
We love starting each week off with our theme board!
This week, we focused on the sounds Y and Z make. I added a few magnets from Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Zion National Park.
I'm not quite sure how Porter discovered Twitter, but he said "Oh! Hi Twitter Bird!" when he saw this roll off the printer.
I love open ended art activities! Have your little one create any kind of face they want on this worksheet!
Oh no! Humpty fell and needs some bandages! Use some stickers to help cover up Humpty's ouchies.
Watermelons and their seeds look like ovals! Draw the proper number of seeds (or place beans!) on each watermelon slice.
"So many numbers!" -Porter, 2 1/2.
***Home CEO Hack*** Trying using beans or Cheerios (I think real olives would be too messy!) and have your little one put the correct amount in each square. Math + fine motor skills + an exercise in self control = a homeschooling super lesson!
We finished out the week by making scrambled eggs!
